Realme 12 pro plus -Unboxing

So, come on, friend, let’s start unboxing this phone right away. Here we get some things as usual

- Sim card tool
- 67 Watt charger
- Type A-C cable
- Case
- Documentation
Friend, we got a yellow-colored box, inside of which we found a SIM card tool, a 67W charger, a Type-C cable, and a case. We can’t forget the documentation; we’ll find that inside the box too. After taking all these things out of the box, we get our lovely Realme 12 Pro Plus smartphone, which is amazing.
Realme 12 Pro Plus Design and Display

The phone is fantastic, and the aesthetics are top-notch. The accompanying case has a circular hole designed to accommodate the camera, meaning the phone’s camera will be within this circular space.
The vegan leather design prevents the phone from slipping; overall, its design gives a very classy and premium appearance. After holding the phone, I realized it was not as heavy as it seemed; in fact, it was a lightweight phone, weighing only 196 grams. However, due to the camera, the case appears heavy when attached, but it’s not.

The back is curved, and the display also has a curve. The rest of the back features a design reminiscent of a watch, specifically inspired by premium watches like Rolex. There’s a golden circle around the camera, and below the camera, there’s a straight golden line, giving it a next-level appearance.
Asahi Glass DT 2 Star is used for front protection. The frame is plastic, so let’s drop this phone and test it. With this in mind, I dropped the phone a little on the table but did not see any problem at all.
Now, when looking at its build quality, let us also look at the ports and tray of Realme 12 Pro Plus. There are speaker grills at the very top, and an NC microphone is also provided. There is a volume button on the right side of the phone and a switch on/off button is also given. The left side of Realme 12 Pro Plus is completely plain. There is a dual SIM slot at the bottom, a microphone next to it, then a USB Type-C port in the center, and the last one has a speaker grill.

Discussing the display, the screen measures 6.7 inches and comes with an FHD+ OLED display. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, which is impressive. It also features 2160 PW dimming and TUV Rheinland certification. Regarding brightness, I didn’t find it to be very high; it has a brightness of 950 nits, which may be acceptable to some people, but I prefer phones with higher brightness. Otherwise, there is no issue. This is my personal opinion.

The display is excellent, and the side bezels are thin as well. There’s a small punch hole at the top on the front, which houses the selfie camera. In addition to the Full HD+ display, you also get an in-display fingerprint sensor. The display is quite decent.
Realme 12 Pro Plus Camera
Realme has put a significant emphasis on the camera. And somehow, the camera is top-notch. So, let’s quickly check the camera of the Realme Pro Plus. The phone has a triple camera setup, and on the right side, there’s a 50-megapixel primary camera.

“Under the primary camera on the phone’s right side, there is a 64-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 6x in-sensor zoom. If you look carefully at the center, it is written 120x, which means we get to see 120x zoom. On the left side, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. In this price range, Realme has truly provided a great camera for the users.”

OIS is present in both the main camera and telephoto. Good photos are captured in portrait mode and night mode, which is excellent. Speaking of filters, there are some fantastic cinematic filters such as the ‘Journey’ filter, inspired by ‘Life of Pi’. The ‘Memory’ filter takes inspiration from ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, and there is another filter inspired by ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
Battery
Battery life is crucial for any phone or device, so let’s talk about its battery without delay. So, friends, Realme 12 Pro Plus comes with a 5000mAh battery capacity and a 67-watt charger. No doubt, the battery is quite impressive, and the charging speed is good – the phone fully charges in about 20 to 22 minutes. Speaking of usage, you can comfortably use it for a day after a full charge. You won’t encounter any problems. The battery life is good; it’s indeed a solid battery in this price range.
Gaming
Now, buddy, in today’s era, if you grab a phone and skip gaming, what’s even the point of getting a phone? So, let’s swiftly check it out by firing up a game. You can game with the Realme 12 Pro Plus, playing titles like Call of Duty, New State, and PUBG at a smooth 60 frames without any issues. However, keep in mind that it’s optimal on medium settings – pushing beyond that might lead to lag and such. It’s decent for gaming.
We attempted playing Call of Duty, and it worked well on medium settings, but playing on high settings is a bit challenging, which is essentially what you can get in this price range. It’s not a gaming phone at all. You can purchase it for other purposes, but if you’re specifically looking to buy a phone just for gaming, then this phone isn’t the right choice for you. In that case, you might want to consider some other gaming phones.
OS & Performance

Realme UI 5.0 is here, based on Android 14. In terms of updates, you’ll get 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security updates. ‘Enhance Intelligence Services Off’ is available, and it’s third-party.
If we discuss performance, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 (4 nanometers) processor, which is slightly less impressive. Besides that, I have no issues, and it runs smoothly, with a 120 fps refresh rate, so it delivers decent performance.
RAM and Storage

Realme 12 Pro Plus comes in two variants. The first one has 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The second variant available is 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and another option is 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. So, this phone is available with both these variants. The phone is only offered in the 8 GB RAM variant; there won’t be any 12 GB variant of this type.
Verdict
If we discuss the overall Realme 12 Pro Plus, the phone is quite good in this price range. It’s a $361 phone, so it lacks many features, but considering the price range, it’s a very good phone. The performance is good, although I didn’t find it impressive regarding gaming and processor. The camera and battery performance, on the other hand, are fine. You should buy this phone if you want a mid-range smartphone under $361 but if your budget is higher, I would advise against purchasing this phone. I would recommend choosing another phone instead.
